Experimental cyclic response of rubberised concrete-filled steel tubes

چکیده

This paper examines the behaviour of circular steel tubes infilled with concrete incorporating recycled rubber particles. The rubberised concrete-filled are tested under lateral cyclic deformations and without co-existing axial loading. A detailed account tests on twelve specimens is provided together complementary material section tests. replacement ratio varied up to a relatively high value 60%, loads reaching 30% nominal capacity. Hollow members also for comparison purposes. experimental results discussed in detail respect member stiffness, capacity, ductility, energy dissipation failure mechanisms. Although ratios lead considerable loss strength, test show that corresponding reduction capacity much less significant due contribution tube comparatively confinement effects mobilised within concrete. In normal concrete, found exhibit about 10% 17% increase ductility dissipation, respectively, depending content. Analytical treatments then used suggest simplified relationships predicting moment-axial strength interaction, plastic hinge length local criteria. Overall, demonstrate favourable inelastic performance provide valuable data. proposed expressions key response parameters offer basis developing practical assessment design methods.

Effect of the Concrete Strength on the Concrete-Steel Bond in Concrete Filled Steel Tubes

In this study, the concrete-steel bond strength of concrete filled cylindrical steel tubes has been experimentally investigated. 22 short, high strength and normal concrete filled circular steel tubes were tested. Push-out test was carried out as the common method to evaluate the bond carrying capacity. Four different concrete mixes were used in preparing the specimens. The steel tubes were w...

Non-linear Analysis of Multi-hazard Performance of Cylindrical Concrete Filled Steel Tubes Bridge Piers

Advanced finite element techniques are used to investigate the multi-hazard (earthquake and blast) performance of Concrete-Filled Steel Tubes (CFSTs) and Concrete Filled Double Skinned Tubes (CFDSTs) for bridge engineering applications. Specimens of both sections are analyzed using the finite element package LS-DYNA under similar seismic and blast loading. First, behavior of CFSTs recorded in s...

Damage Assessment for Performance-Based Design of Rectangular Concrete-Filled Steel Tubes

This paper summarizes research in which the damage evolution of rectangular concrete-filled steel tube (RCFT) members, connections, and frames, was documented using results from experimental tests from around the world. Two types of damage indices were then defined and used for each type of RCFT component to quantify damage. Based on the quantified values of damage, each local damage level iden...

Cyclic Evolution of Damage and Beam-column Interaction Strength of Concrete-filled Steel Tube Beam-columns

The assessment of response of composite seismic force resisting systems requires accurate nonlinear formulations for the composite members. In this work, reporting the first phase of a NEES project, a three-dimensional distributed plasticity formulation is presented for both circular and rectangular composite concrete-filled steel tubes (CFTs) that includes new constitutive models for the concr...
